Indian forces' operation in Rajouri enters 36th consecutive day
June 27, 2026

A wing of the Indian police, Counter Intelligence Kashmir, today conducted raids and search operations at multiple locations across Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

CIK teams, accompanied by senior police officers, raided the residences of Riyaz Ahmad Beigh, Syed Qalandar Shah, and Gulzar Ahmad Rather in Srinagar, Ganderbal, and Islamabad districts.

The raids were carried out under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, during which property documents, computers, laptops, mobile phones, and other digital devices were seized.

Meanwhile, the massive cordon and search operation launched by Indian forces in the forests of Gambhir Mughlan and Dorimal in Rajouri district continued for the 36th consecutive day today.

Indian authorities admitted that the difficult terrain, dense forests, deep gorges, and rugged mountains were posing serious challenges to the operation.

The prolonged operation has turned the area into a virtual military zone, causing severe hardship and disruption to the daily lives of local residents.

On the other hand, speakers at a seminar held on the sidelines of the 62nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva expressed grave concern over the worsening human rights situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

They stressed that repression and peace cannot coexist, emphasizing that lasting peace requires an end to human rights violations and the grant of the UN-mandated right to self-determination to the Kashmiri people in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions.
