IIOJK: Indian forces martyr 31 Kashmiris during current year
October 29, 2026

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, state terrorism and human rights violations by Indian forces have increased manifold since the revocation of the territory's special status in August 2019.

According to a report by the Kashmir Media Service, about 1,100 Kashmiris have been martyred so far, including thirty-one during the current year.

Over 2,700 Kashmiris have also been injured and more than 37,800 arrested during the period.

Deploring the situation, Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders have urged the United Nations and peace-loving countries to end their silence and press India to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions.

India is imposing further restrictions on media in the occupied territory under the guise of a new policy.

The proposed policy seeks to bring social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram under more stringent controls.

It has raised serious concerns among media outlets that fear the policy will further restrict freedom of expression, encourage censorship and tighten the Modi regime's grip on dissenting voices in the occupied territory.
