The Election Commission has strongly denied the reports in media circles about delay in the elections.

In a press release issued in Islamabad, election commission said the news about non-preparation of election lists is completely false, baseless and misleading. The Election Commission has decided to approach PEMRA against those spreading such false news so that legal action can be taken against those spreading such misleading news.

The Election Commission has ordered transcripts and recordings of news broadcast on various channels.
