The European Commission and European Aviation Safety Agency have lifted the suspension on PIA flights to Europe.

This was announced by Minister for Aviation Khawaja Muhammad Asif in a post on social media platform X.

He said Third Country Operator Authorization has been issued to the PIA and the Airblue Limited.

The Minister said it happened due to complete focus of the Aviation Ministry to strengthen Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority and ensuring safety oversight in line with International Civil Aviation Organization standards.

He said the government has taken significant measures to strengthen PCAA including enactment of PCAA Act, smooth segregation of regulator and service providers, appointment of professional leadership and training to build the capacity.
