The lawmakers have condemned the suicide attack in Peshawar and called for evolving a comprehensive and effective strategy to combat terrorism.
Taking part in the discussion in the senate on Monday on the recent wave of terrorism in the country, especially today's terrorist blast in Peshawar, they said a collective approach is needed to fully eliminate terrorism from the country.
They demanded of the government to unearth sleeper cells of terrorists, operating across the country.
The lawmakers also called for debating the issue of terrorism in a joint session of the parliament.
Those, who spoke on the occasion, include Dr Asif Kirmani, Haji Hidayatullah, Mohsin Aziz, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Sardar Shafique Tareen, Fida Muhammad Khan, and Rubina Khalid.
The House will continue the discussion tomorrow.
The Chairman adjourned the House to meet again at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Senate today passed two bills.
These include "The Factories (Amendment) Bill, 2022" and "The Federal Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2022".
