Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has said due to the proactive decisions taken by National Command and Operation Center, the situation of oxygen in hospitals is under control despite rapid increase in the COVID-19 cases.
In a series of tweets today (Friday), he said total number of critical care Covid patients on oxygen have reached 5,360 and this is 57 percent more than the peak last June.
The Minister said total oxygen production operational capacity in Pakistan last year was 487 tons per day which has now been increased to 798 tons.
He said the need for precautions and following standard operating procedures is vital at this time and next few weeks are critical.
