Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has directed the relevant institutions to adopt global best practices for providing quality education and support services to meet the needs of special children.

He was chairing a meeting of the Advisory Board of the Centre of Excellence for Autism in Islamabad today.

The Deputy Prime Minister also directed the authorities to expedite the establishment of the Centre of Excellence for Autism in Islamabad.

The meeting reviewed progress on the project and discussed measures to strengthen inclusive education, early intervention, and support services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, reaffirming the government's commitment to creating a comprehensive support system for persons with autism.

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training briefed the meeting on the steps taken to establish the state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence, while renowned experts also presented their recommendations for further improving services for children with autism.
