Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has decided to run 5,000 electric buses across the province over the next five years.

Chairing a meeting of the Transport and Mass Transit Department in Lahore today, the Chief Minister said Punjab has started assembling electric buses locally.

The meeting approved first phase of 1,500 electric buses for 91 tehsils, while 189 new buses are ready for launch and another 488 buses are expected to arrive from China later this month.
