Former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has been shifted from Adyala Jail to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad for treatment.

Caretaker Punjab Home Minister, Shaukat Javed said Nawaz Sharif has been shifted to PIMS on recommendations of a medical team and his personal physician.

Talking to PTV, he said Nawaz Sharif is being treated by the team of doctors, who had suggested to shift him to the hospital.

He said the hospital room, where Nawaz Sharif was shifted, has been declared as sub-jail and police personnel have been deployed outside it.

To a question, he said duration of Nawaz's stay at the hospital would be decided by the doctors.
