Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Amin-ul-Haque has said the government is utilizing all available resources for the provision of broadband and high speed internet facilities in the far-flung areas of Sindh and Balochistan without any discrimination.
In a statement, the Minister said two more projects worth one billion rupees have been launched for provision of mobile and high-speed internet services in Tharparkar and Gwadar districts.
He said that a project worth more than 870 million rupees for Tharparkar district will be completed in 18 months and provide mobile and broadband facilities to more than 72,000 residents of various unserved villages spread over an area of 10,432 sq. km.
Syed Amin-ul-Haque said the broadband project had also been approved costing 188.1 million rupees for more than 15,000 people in 19 villages of Gwadar, Balochistan.
He hoped the completion of these projects would connect the residents of unserved, under-served and remote areas of Balochistan and Sindh with the digital world.
