Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, has termed political stability essential for the country’s economic progress.

Speaking at a ceremony at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry today, he called for making brining further improvements in Pakistan’s economic policies.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani said that the economy can be strengthened through the development of special economic zones.

He highlighted the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, stressing its role in promoting modern technologies and creating new job opportunities.

The Chairman also noted that public-private partnerships are crucial for economic growth.

Discussing Pakistan’s energy sector, he emphasized the country's diverse sources of electricity, including solar, wind, hydro, coal, and gas, which can meet national energy demands.
