Pakistan and Austria have reaffirmed commitment to strengthen Pakistan-Austria relations through enhanced parliamentary engagement, economic cooperation, and collaboration on global initiatives. 

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Chairman of the Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani and President of the National Council of Austria Walter Rosenkranz in Austria.

The Chairman thanked Austria for its valuable support for Pakistan’s candidature for the United Nations Security Council for the current term.

Both leaders emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the UN system, ensuring it better serves global peace, security, and development.

They agreed that future parliamentary delegations to Austria should include representatives from the business sector to strengthen government-to-business and business-to-business cooperation.

During the meeting, the Chairman extended a formal invitation to Walter Rosenkranz to visit Pakistan, which was graciously accepted.
