President Ebrahim Raisi has ordered Iran’s foreign ministry to actively pursue the resumption of diplomatic relations with Egypt.

In a statement Government spokesman Ali Bahadori-Jahromi said Iran is seriously pursuing resumption of diplomatic relations Egypt.

This comes a day after Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a meeting with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq expressed willingness to reestablishing diplomatic ties with Egypt.
