The 80th Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan will be celebrated with traditional zeal and fervour tomorrow [Sunday].

In November 1947, leaders of the freedom movement, along with the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, liberated the region from Dogra rule and unconditionally acceded to Pakistan.

To mark the occasion, a grand ceremony will be held at the Army Helipad in Gilgit, featuring various celebrations and tributes to the heroes who played a role in the region's liberation struggle.
