Dr. Zafar Malik (Journalist, Beijing): It is a very important visit of the Prime Minister to the brotherly country China. High level Chinese officials warmly welcomed the Pakistani delegation upon arrival. Tomorrow, he will meet with Chinese business delegations as well as representatives of Chinese companies working in Pakistan. In the evening, he is to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and his counterpart Li Keqiang. During his talks at various levels, Prime Minister is likely to include various new areas of cooperation in CPEC. A number of MoUs and agreements are to be signed during the meetings. This visit is very important in terms of economic collaboration, and ties between the two countries. Prime Minister will also attend the business forum where representatives of a number of Chinese companies will be in attendance and they will be invited to take benefit of Pakistan’s friendly investment climate. China exports 28 billion dollars’ worth of goods to Pakistan and currently it is in favor of Chinese. We also need to reduce this gap with more exports of Pakistan to China. Prime Minister will urge the Chinese side to shift technology to Pakistan so that a vibrant business and industrial environment is created in the country.
