At COP27 meeting in Sharm El-Sheikh, many countries pledged to provide aid to flood-hit Pakistan but it is yet to be materialized

Dr Talat Anwar (Economist): It is disappointing to note that international community is spending tremendous amount of money on war on terror, conflict in Ukraine and other global issues, but is not helping the developing countries like Pakistan that are already overburdened due to various challenges. Pakistan paid a high cost in war against terror, rendering huge sacrifices in terms of humans and materials. At the COP27 meeting in Sharm El-Sheikh, many countries pledged to provide aid to flood-hit Pakistan but it is yet to be materialized. We also need an IMF program to manage our economy. If Pakistan does not receive international aid, the people of the country will suffer badly.
