Renowned Physicist Dr Pervez Hoodbhoy has hailed NASA's launching of James Webb space telescope as a victory for humanity.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan Islamabad's correspondent Haider Baloch, he said earlier the Hubble telescope launched in 1990 helped to explore the secrets of distant galaxies in space. It helped to determine the age of universe that was 13.7 billion years according to the data available then. However, the James Webb will be ten times stronger than Hubble. However, its frequency will differ from Hubble.
Responding to a query about the equilibrium of James Webb telescope, he said the gravitational pull of earth, sun and moon will help to stay floating in space and to study the distant stars and planets revolving around them.
When asked about the possibility of discovering aliens on other planets, Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy said James Webb telescope may help in finding elements on different planets to determine possibility of life.
Answering a question about science education in Pakistan, he called for improving standard of science education in the country to catch scientific advancement in the world.
