Field activities in connection with the first-ever Digital Census started across the country on Wednesday.
Chief Census Commissioner, Dr. Naeem-uz-Zafar inaugurated the field activities by marking first building structure in House Listing App. The Census Commissioners also launched he activities in their respective divisions throughout the country.
The citizens of Pakistan, being the most important stakeholders and beneficiary of the census, have been urged to ensure their full participation and cooperation during census field operation.
Pakistan Bureau of Statistics has already launched self-enumeration portal which is 1st ever opportunity provided to any country in South Asia.
Talking to media persons on this occasion, Chief Census Commissioner Dr. Naeem-uz-Zafar, and Spokesman Pakistan Bureau of Statistics Sarwar Gondal said that ninety two thousand seven hundred and fifty four Enumerators are engaged in door-to-door field activities.
They appreciated the succession of self-enumeration portal and hoped that same progress and dedication will be witnessed during the full roll-out of enumeration activity.
The Digital Census will geo tag all structures of Pakistan that will provide framework for economic census.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif says Pakistan's first-ever Digital Census’23 was launched today.
In a tweet today, he said this transparent system of data collection will feed into informed decision-making, future planning and efficient utilisation of resources.
The Prime Minister congratulated all the organisations for designing this system indigenously.
