The Supreme Court of Pakistan in a 3-2 verdict has ordered Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hold elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within ninety days.

The verdict was announced by a five-member bench headed by Chief Justice, Justice Umar Ata Bandial and comprising Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar.

Earlier, the Supreme Court reserved its verdict yesterday in the suo-motu proceedings regarding the announcement of a date for elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
