In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, thirty-fifth martyrdom anniversary of victims of Zakura and Tengpora massacres was observed on Saturday.
According to Kashmir Media Service, on this day in 1990, Indian troops brutally opened fire on peaceful protesters in the Zakura and Tengpora areas of Srinagar, martyring over fifty innocent Kashmiris and injuring dozens more.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference paid rich tribute to victims of the Zakura and Tengpora massacres.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, the APHC spokesperson, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas termed the massacre as part of India’s systematic campaign of genocide in IIOJK, designed to terrorize the local population and suppress their quest for self-determination.
He reaffirmed unwavering resolve of the Kashmiri people to continue their struggle for freedom.
