Chinese President Xi Jinping says there is no force that can shake the foundation of the country.  

He said this while opening celebrations of the founding of People's Republic of China at the Tiananmen Square in Beijing on Tuesday.

The Chinese President said no force will be able to stop the steady march forward of the Chinese nation. He said China will pursue a mutually beneficial strategy of opening up.

He said the Chinese people had managed to stand on their feet and make great strides.

Xi Jinping said country's military should resolutely safeguard China's sovereignty, security and upholds world peace.

Later, the Chinese President reviewed the military troops in an open-topped Red Flag.
