Afghanistan keen to resume work on TAPI gas pipeline project

Afghanistan is keen to resume work on the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project in its terrains.

Addressing a joint press conference along with his Turkman counterpart Rashid Meredov, Afghanistan acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi said that important issues such as TAPI, railroads and electricity were discussed with the visiting foreign minister.

TAPI pipeline is expected to carry 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas each year along a route stretching 1,800 km from Turkmenistan to India through Afghanistan and Pakistan.
