ECC assigns PASSCO to manage wheat allocation

The Economic Coordination Committee has decided that domestic and imported wheat would be allocated and released by PASSCO till full disposal of imported wheat stock.

The ECC, which met in Islamabad today with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in the chair, took this decision, while considering a proposal for allocation of domestic and imported wheat stocks of PASSCO among wheat-deficient agencies and regions for Food Year 2024-25.

It also decided that all seven wheat-deficit agencies and regions would lift the wheat as per their committed demand during the Food Year 2024-25.

The ECC however directed that the wheat to be picked up by agencies and regions be tested beforehand for purpose of quality and fitness for consumption. 

Besides, the forum approved over thirty-five billion rupees as technical supplementary grant in favour of various ministries and departments, including thirty billion rupees budgeted for the current fiscal year under the "Flood Response Emergency Housing Project", to Finance Division for onward release to the Government of Sindh.

It also approved a grant of 252.711 million rupees to ensure uninterrupted provision of civic services at the Prime Minister's Office (Public), Prime Minister's Office Internal and Prime Minister's Staff Colony, 1.8 billion rupees for overhaul of engines of two VVIP aircraft being utilized for state duties with the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and 2.939 billion rupees for purchase of two e-Passport Personalization systems and six desktop personalization machines for uninterrupted and smooth official business of the Directorate in the public interest. 

A grant of 376 million rupees in favour of NAB for meeting the expenditure in terms of Recovery and Reward Rules.
