Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar has inaugurated Punjab's biggest sports event Khelta Punjab Games in Lahore today.

He inaugurated the event by taking part in a badminton match.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that this grand event has been formally inaugurated in all districts simultaneously.

He said that in first phase, competitions of athletics, badminton, football, hockey, kabaddi and tap ball cricket are being held. He said that a total of one lac twenty thousand players are taking part in this event throughout province. He said that players will also be provided financial assistance form endowment fund worth two billion rupees beside prizes.

Director General Sports Punjab Parvez Iqbal, in his remarks said that Sports Board Punjab is working hard for betterment of players in province.
