Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has said the construction of modern highways and provision of safe travel facilities remain among the government's top priorities.

During his visit to the Kamalpur Interchange in Faisalabad today, he said speedy work is underway on the 53-kilometre expansion project of the Faisalabad-Pindi Bhattian section of the M-4 Motorway, which is being upgraded from four to six lanes.

He said the M-4 Motorway will be transformed into a state-of-the-art highway, where beautiful rest areas will also be established to facilitate commuters.

Abdul Aleem Khan directed the authorities to increase machinery and workforce to accelerate construction activities.

He further directed the authorities to ensure complete lighting arrangements along the Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad section and finalize the designs of rest areas within one week to facilitate travellers.
