Dr. Zahid Anwar Khan (IR Expert):Indian defiance to award by Permanent Court of Arbitration on Indus Waters Treaty has further isolated India in the comity of nations because India is not recognizing verdict of such an impartial organization. Factually, Indian rejection of the award by the Permanent Court of Arbitration on Indus Waters Treaty has raised concerns beyond present dispute. Actually, India cannot treat international law as a matter of convenience, invoking it when useful and discarding it when inconvenient. As international values and laws India can also not disregard binding treaty obligations and the legal processes to which it freely subscribed, because their outcomes are not to its liking. So any such action by New Delhi will reduce Indian credibility in the eyes of international community. Award by Permanent Court of Arbitration on Indus Waters Treaty is a great victory for Pakistan as international community has recognized Pakistan’s viewpoint as exact and correct.  PCA’s award on Indus Waters Treaty will gain more international support for Pakistan.
