WWF provides assistance to families of Balochistan mine accident victims

The Workers Welfare Fund has provided financial assistance of one million rupees each to the families of two workers who were killed in a mining accident at Sourange Coal Mine in Balochistan.

On the special directives of Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Secretary Workers Welfare Fund Zulfiqar Ahmed visited the bereaved families in Swabi and Swat and presented them the assistance cheques.

He also offered Fateha and conveyed the Federal Minister’s condolences to the families.

Speaking on the occasion, Zulfiqar Ahmed said the Workers Welfare Fund stands by workers and their families in difficult times and will continue to extend all possible assistance.

He said special attention would also be given to the education and basic needs of the children of the deceased workers.

The Workers Welfare Fund had earlier provided one million rupees each to thirty-two families affected by mining accidents in Shangla and Alpuri.
