Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) and National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) have decided to collaborate in skill development and vocational training of BISP beneficiaries under BISP`s Graduation Program.
In this connection a meeting was held between Secretary BISP Omar Hamid Khan and Executive Director NAVTTC Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema in Islamabad today (Wednesday) to chalk out a plan for such partnership.
The Graduation Program by BISP aims at enabling beneficiaries of the programme to earn an independent and respectable social up-gradation through skill livelihood.
In the opening remarks, Secretary BISP said by creating linkages with specialized organizations like NAVTTC is looking forward to train its beneficiaries in demand driven trades.
Executive Director NAVTTC welcomed the initiative of BISP and stated that the two sides need to determine the monetary requirements, priority trades, duration of trainings and number of trainings for the partnership.
