Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua says both Pakistan and Afghanistan should engage in concrete cooperation instead of resorting to blame game.

She made these remarks during meeting of Pak-Afghan joint working groups in Kabul today (Saturday).

The foreign secretary strongly condemned recent terror attacks in Kabul and offered joint investigation into the attacks.

During the meeting, Pakistan also urged the Afghan government to take action against anti-Pakistan terrorists. Pakistani side also emphasized the need for strengthening border management on the Afghan side.

Earlier, Pakistani delegation headed by Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua arrived in Kabul for talks with the Afghan authorities. In his remarks on the twitter, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal expressed the confidence that the first meeting of Pak-Afghan joint working groups will help further solidify bilateral relations between the two countries.

Pakistan had proposed five joint working groups, which focus on ensuring comprehensive engagement for countering terrorism, intelligence sharing, military, economy, trade and transit interaction, refugee repatriation and connectivity.

Foreign office Spokesperson Dr. Muhammad Faisal has said Pakistan has always maintained that there is no military path to peace and stability in Afghanistan and only an Afghan led and Afghan owned peace process will ensure peace there.

He said the endless cycle of violence in Afghanistan for decades has and will only add to the woes of people of that country including the Afghan refugees in Pakistan who will not be able to return to their homes and reunite with their beloved ones.
