In Sudan, fierce fighting continues between army and the Paramilitary Rapid Support Forces in capital Khartoum.

According to reports, airstrikes were launched in northern part of the capital while heavy artillery was used in the city's east. The RSF said it has downed a Sudanese army fighter jet in the city of Bahri.

Meanwhile, the United Nations says a record twenty five million people in Sudan need humantarian aid and protection.

It said disease and malnutrition threaten the rising number of displaced people. Battles since April between forces have killed three thousand people have been killed in clashes between army and RSF forces since April this year.
