Israel has declared the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as persona non grata in an unprecedented and regrettable move.

During a briefing at UN Headquarters in New York, UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said in his 24-year career, he had never encountered such aggressive move.

According to diplomatic sources, an action of this kind has never been taken against a UN chief.
