British Pakistani boxer Amir Khan called on Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain in Islamabad today.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that athletes can play a significant role in promoting intercultural dialogue. He added that sports and healthy activities can help eliminate the extremist tendencies from the society.

Commenting on the minorities right, he said that minorities enjoy all political, economic, and social rights in Pakistan guaranteed by the constitution. He further said the government has taken various steps to promote interfaith harmony.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain said additional facilities and conveniences have been introduced in the sponsorship of Hajj scheme for overseas Pakistanis.
