A function in connection with International firefighters Day was held in Peshawar on Wednesday to pay homage to those who forfeited their lives to save other people's lives.

Addressing the function, Director General Rescue 1122 Dr Khateer Ahmad said fire fighters are considered heroes globally.

He said the fire fighters alone come forward to save others’ lives in a situation where their own lives are at risk.

Dr Khateer Ahmad said Rescue 1122 has trained educated and spirited crew with latest vehicles of fire extinguishing.

On this occasion, DG Rescue 1122 distributed cash and commendation certificates among fire fighter crew for best performance.
