Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has advised the opposition not to do politics on the Pakistan Steel Mills. Speaking to a private news channel he said Government has taken the right step by announcing the golden handshake scheme for the PSM employees as the mills had become a white elephant for the national exchequer. The minister said previous governments were not serious in resolving the matter of the Pakistan Steel Mills otherwise the issue would have been resolved during their respective governments.

The opposition parties are criticizing the Government action just for political point scoring.

Shibli Faraz said Government is working to strengthen the national instituations and decision regarding Pakistan steel mills was taken in larger national interest.

Shibli Faraz urged media to highlight in its true spirit, the government's decision taken with good intention.
