Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed Department of Communications and Works to formulate a policy on digital weighing of transport.

He said this while chairing a meeting regarding excel load management in Lahore.

Caretaker Chief Minister said Punjab Highway Police will check fixed weight in goods vehicles in this regard.

The Chief Minister also issued instructions for immediate and sustainable measures to save the roads from crumbling and said Industry Rules 1996 and Motor Vehicles Ordinance 1965 will be amended soon.

He said weight machines of crushing plants, grain markets, cement, sugar and fertilizer factories and other industries will be linked to the PITB App.
