Field operation of housing and population census in heavily snow bound areas of Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be conducted from 1st to 15th of next month. 

The decision was taken at a meeting of Census Monitoring Committee held in Islamabad on Wednesday, with Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal in the chair.

Expressing satisfaction over the smooth and successful conduct of the first ever digital census throughout the country, the meeting decided that Post Enumeration Survey for the census will be conducted to assess the extent of any possible over and under reporting and for validating the provisional data of the census.

The meeting also asked the Finance Division for immediate release of the remaining census funds.

It merits mention here that census field operation in 129 blocks of Azad Jamu and Kashmir, 80 blocks of Gilgit Baltistan, 16 blocks in Mansehra and three districts of Kohistan could not be conducted earlier due to heavy snow cover in these areas.
