Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed his grief and shock over the tragic deaths of tourists in Murree.
In a tweet today [Saturday], he said the unprecedented snowfall and rush of people proceeding without checking weather conditions caught district administration unprepared.
The Prime Minister said he has ordered inquiry and putting in place strong regulation to ensure prevention of such tragedies.
President Dr. Arif Alvi expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragedy and loss of precious lives in Murree.
In a commiseration message on Saturday, he extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
He expressed hope that the local administration will soon evacuate trapped people.
Meanwhile, National Assembly's Speaker Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri have also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of stranded tourists at Murree.
In a statement on Saturday, they expressed sympathies with bereaved families and directed the authorities concerned to rescue the stranded people and shift them to safer places.
