The fifty third death anniversary of renowned Urdu, Punjabi and Pothohari poet Muhammad Afzal commonly known as Baqi Siddiqui was observed on Wednesday.
He was born on 20th December in 1908 at Siham village in Rawalpindi.
After completion of his matriculation, he worked as a teacher at a local madrassa.
He also remained associated with Radio Pakistan, Rawalpindi and wrote many songs in Pothohari language.
Baqi Siddiqui died on this day in 1972 and is buried in Rawalpindi.
