China has warned the NATO to stop its expansion and abandon the Cold War mentality by respecting the sovereignty of other countries aimed to ensure global security.

In a statement, the Chinese Mission to the European Union has opposed NATO's expansion saying that it continues to expand its geographical scope and the range of operations and engages in bloc politics and confrontation.

The statement further said that NATO's move is not conducive to global security and stability.
