Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed was born in Hoshiarpur city of the eastern Punjab, on 22nd July in 1914.
In August 1958, he was assigned to launch an offensive against Indian forces in the area of Lakshmipur.
Despite fatal injuries, he resolutely completed his mission, exemplifying unparalleled bravery, unwavering resolve, and unrelenting dedication to duty and embraced martyrdom.

Major Tufail Muhammad, the second recipient of the esteemed Nishan-e-Haider, valiantly laid down his life in 1958 while fearlessly engaging the enemy in the Lakshmipur sector of East Pakistan. Despite fatal injuries, he resolutely completed his mission, exemplifying unparalleled bravery, unwavering resolve, and unrelenting dedication to duty.

Quran Khawani was held in mosques on the occasion of martyrdrom anniversary of Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed. Special prayers were held for the elevated status of the martyr.
The religious scholars paid glowing tributes to the sacrifces of martyrs for the homeland.
