Pak-Uzbek trade volume reaches over $250m: Envoy

Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Oybek Arif Usmanov has said that Pakistan and Uzbekistan are focusing on exploring more avenues of trade and investments in multiple sectors to enhance trade.

Talking to APP during an Iftar dinner hosted by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad, the Ambassador said volume of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Uzbekistan had reached over 250 million dollars by the end of 2022.

He said the implementation of the Preferential Trade Agreement between Pakistan and Uzbekistan and the recently signed nine Memorandum of Understanding would further increase trade volume to one billion dollars between both the countries.

He said trade turnover between the two countries rose from 36 million dollars in 2014 to 250 million last year which is quite a progress. 

He said Uzbekistan is the largest trade partner of Pakistan in Central Asia and Pakistan has been listed among the top 10 main foreign trade partners for Uzbekistan.
