Dr. Dost Muhammad (Religious Scholar): If we look into the pre-Islamic era, Arab tribes were facing the same issues as the Muslim Ummah is facing today. Holy Prophet (PBUH) preached the teachings of Islam to transform their lives. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) taught us how a nation could be built. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his companions were forced to migrate to the Madina where a written agreement (Meesaq e Madina) was signed between the Muslims and the Jews. This landmark document of Islamic history is considered as the first written constitution, wherein all stakeholders were given equal status. We need to keep in mind how Pakistan came into being, what was the ideology behind its creation and how our forefathers sacrificed to get an independent country where people could spend their lives according to their faith freely. It is the need of the hour that we as Muslims follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) properly to succeed as a nation.
Dr. Masoom Yasinzai (Rector, IIUI): We the Muslims are proud to be the followers of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). It is our moral responsibility that we follow the footsteps of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in every walk of life. It is unfortunate that the Muslim Ummah is facing multiple challenges due to not following the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in letter and spirit. Tolerance has a unique place among these moral principles. The religion of Islam shows that, along with other things, it is a religion of forgiveness and tolerance. Unfortunately, the nation is lacking tolerance which is resulting in our downfall.
