UN Undersecretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths has expressed concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Myanmar.
In a statement, he said there are over three million people in need of life-saving assistance because of growing conflict and insecurity, COVID-19 and a failing economy.
He said without an end to violence and a peaceful resolution of Myanmar's crisis, this number will only rise, Griffiths warned in a statement.
