Deputy PM stresses on collaboration among South Asian nations

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has called for fostering regional collaboration among South Asian Nations to address current challenges including economic recovery, climate change and technological disruption.

Virtually addressing a South Asian Federation of Accountants' Conference today, he said Pakistan is creating an ecosystem that supports investment, promotes exports, and harnesses the potential of its human capital.

Sharing Pakistan's perspective for the promotion of regional cooperation, the Deputy Prime Minister said the government is introducing reforms in tax policy, public financial management, and regulatory frameworks to create an environment conducive to business and investment.

He said preferential trade agreements and reforms in logistics and border management are need of the hour to address trade barriers.

Commenting on the significance of renewable energy, Ishaq Dar said regional sharing of innovations and expertise in renewable energy can help South Asia collectively reduce dependency on fossil fuels and embrace a greener and sustainable future.

He said Pakistan has a wealth of talent in the field of Accountancy Services and this session provides a valuable platform to discuss solutions to thrive in the digital economy.
