International Day of Women and Girls in Science was observed on Sunday.

In a message on the occasion, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called for helping women and girls reach their potential in science by dismantling barriers against them.

He said concerted efforts should be made to overcome biases against women and girls in science.
