Iranian lawmakers demand US legal guarantee for nuke deal revival
April 11, 2022

Iran has demanded the United States to provide a legal guarantee that prevents future US governments from quitting a possible agreement aimed at salvaging the 2015 nuclear deal.

A statement signed by 250 Iranian lawmakers said the deal must be held up by the US decision-making institutions, including congress, in a totally legal form, so that there would be no obstacle in its implementation in future.

It said the United States should also ensure that sanctions lifted from Iran would not be reimposed.

It said Iran should have the right to export its oil to any country and Tehran should be able to receive revenue from exported oil through the international banking system.
