Saleem Shahid (Senior Journalist): Balochistan needs attention of both federal and provincial governments. Successive governments have been promising of developing this province, but not many practical steps have been taken in this regard. Balochistan has 35 districts, out of which 20 need a lot of work. There are problems of infrastructure, potable water, health and a host of other issues being faced by Baloch population. If you go outside Quetta, you will see the miserable state of health facilities. We have great hopes from caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar that he will take long term steps to improve the conditions of the people of his province. He is determined to change the situation in his native province.
