Dr. Mirza Ikhtiyar Baig (Economist): The projects relating to power generation, infrastructure and Gawadar port have been completed under CPEC. The hallmark of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor is the establishment of Special Economic Zones. These Special Economic Zones will be the backbone of this revolutionary project. Overall, nine SEZs will be established in the country with two SEZs in each province and one in Gilgit-Baltistan. There will be the relocation of industries from China to Pakistan resulting in huge employment opportunities for our youth. The incumbent government is taking keen interest in establishment of Special Economic Zones and work is underway on one zone in KPK and one in Sindh. Chinese companies could be invited for investment in Pakistan, especially in the sectors where the country has the potential to export its products.
