Renowned economist Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig has said that hallmark of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor is the establishment of Special Economic Zones.

Taking part in the program of News and Current Affairs Channel of Radio Pakistan, he said that projects relating to power generation, infrastructure and Gwadar port have been completed under CPEC.

He said these Special Economic Zones will be the backbone of this revolutionary project.

Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig said there will be the relocation of industries from China to Pakistan resulting in creation of employment opportunities for youth.

To a question, the economist opined that Chinese companies can be invited for investment in Pakistan, especially in those sectors where the country has the potential to export its products.
