Ali Sarwar Naqvi (Former Ambassador): United Arab Emirates is the first country the Prime Minister is visiting after the successful Geneva conference. UAE is a close friend of Pakistan and always provided financial assistance to Pakistan whenever needed and is one of the largest donors of humanitarian assistance during difficult times. A huge number of Pakistanis are residing in the UAE and contributing to the economy. The leadership of both the countries must come to a mutual consensus on the means and ways the bilateral trade can be enhanced up to its true potential. The two sides must focus on deepening investment cooperation, stimulating partnerships and enabling investment integration opportunities.
Dr. Rasheed Ahmed Khan (IR Expert): In 1998, after the nuclear tests when the international community imposed sanctions on Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates supported Pakistan at that time. Moreover, the new government in Pakistan has been welcomed at the global level. The policies of the incumbent government are important for the sovereignty of the country. The United Arab Emirates has not only over-rolled the existing two billion dollars but will lend an additional one billion dollar that will support the government to mitigate the sufferings of the flood victims. The two leaders will also exchange views on a range of regional and global issues of mutual interest.
